Trump Organization Sought to Bring In Almost 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s family business increased its recruitment of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, while his administration was creating barriers for other companies wanting to do the identical, an analysis published Thursday stated.

Based on information from the federal labor department, the business aimed to hire at least 184 foreign workers in 2025 for short-term roles at the US president’s Florida property, golf facilities and his winery in Virginia.

The quantity of applications for temporary work visas covering workers including servers, clerks, housekeepers, kitchen staff and farm workers was the highest ever submitted by the organization, and up from over 120 in the previous term, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that Trump had attempted to bring in over a hundred foreign employees for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on available data.

The revelation coincides with a crackdown on immigration laws by his government that has involved the implementation of a $100,000 fee on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the millions of people who already hold US visas; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and reporters.

In total, the business sought to hire over 560 foreign laborers over the period Trump has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Notably, Trump was questioned by some in the GOP this week for remarks justifying the need for overseas employees when a company was unable to find people with “specific talents” to fill certain positions.

“You cannot just say a nation is coming in, going to invest $10bn to construct a plant, and going to take people off an jobless roster who haven’t worked in five years, and they’re going to start producing their defense systems. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he told a interviewer after it was implied that overseas employees lower the pay of US workers.

The White House refused a inquiry for comment, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
